Ingredients
Scale
1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
1 container (16 oz) cream cheese frosting
12 oz white chocolate melting wafers
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
Instructions
Bake the red velvet cake according to the package directions using the amount of eggs and oil specified on the box. Let the cake cool completely.
Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl, removing any hard edges.
Add the entire container of cream cheese frosting to the cake crumbs. Mix well until a thick, uniform dough forms.
Roll the dough into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
Melt the white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until smooth. Stir in the coconut oil if using.
Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off.
Return the coated cake balls to the parchment-lined sheet.
Allow the chocolate coating to set completely at room temperature or chill briefly until firm.
Notes
For a smoother dip, use candy melts instead of standard white chocolate chips.
You can use store-bought baked cake or leftover cake if you prefer not to bake from a mix.
For Valentine’s Day, add red sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
