About Us : Our Story How Two Kitchen Disasters Became “Cookery Kings”
Let’s be honest, the name ‘Cookery Kings’ is a bit of an inside joke. We’re Chloe and Mia, and if you’d seen us in our first college apartment, you would have called us the queens of burnt toast and takeout. Welcome to our blog, the story of how two best friends accidentally fell in love with cooking and decided to document the glorious, hilarious mess.

I’m Chloe, the one in the yellow shirt, and I’m 29. Mia (she’s 28, and the one who somehow stays organized amidst my chaos) and I have been best friends since day one of university. We bonded over a shared love of music, late-night talks, and a mutual inability to cook anything that didn’t come from a box. Our signature dish was pasta boiled for so long it turned into a single, sad noodle-clump.
The turning point wasn’t some glamorous culinary awakening. It was a disastrous attempt to host a “grown-up” dinner party. The chicken was raw, the salad was wilted, and the only thing on fire was our smoke alarm. Surrounded by the culinary carnage, we looked at each other and made a pact: we were going to conquer the kitchen. Together.
So, we did what any millennial would do: we turned to the internet.

That’s when the magic really started. Our tiny kitchen became our laboratory. We weren’t just following recipes; we were experimenting, making huge messes, and, most importantly, laughing harder than we ever had before. I’d be the one to say, “What if we add chili flakes to this cake?” and Mia would be the one to wisely talk me down (most of the time).

Why “Cookery Kings”?
We started this blog because we realized the secret ingredient wasn’t a rare spice or a complicated French technique. It was friendship. It’s the joy of creating something, side-by-side. It’s the fun of turning on a playlist, pouring a glass of something cold, and not being afraid to fail. It’s about being the “king” of your own kitchen, no matter how small or chaotic it is.
This space isn’t about perfection. It’s about giving it a try. It’s for anyone who has ever felt intimidated by a recipe or ordered pizza after a kitchen catastrophe. We’re here to tell you that you can do this, and it can be one of the most fun adventures you’ll ever have.
Meet the Kings
- Chloe (29): That’s me! I’m the Chaos Coordinator and the “Why Not?” specialist. I believe the best flavors come from happy accidents and that there’s no problem a little more cheese can’t solve.
- Mia (28): She is our rock, the Master of Logistics, and the only reason our recipes have actual measurements. She brings the calm to my storm and can salvage almost any dish I creatively “improve.”
We’re so happy you’re here. Grab an apron (or don’t, we’re not picky) and let’s rule our kitchens together.
With love and a lot of pizza,
Chloe & Mia
