Ingredients
Scale
3 cups Whole Milk
4 ounces high-quality White Chocolate, finely chopped
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt
Optional: Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping
Instructions
Pour the milk into a medium saucepan. Heat the milk over medium-low heat until small bubbles form around the edges. Do not let it boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the finely chopped white chocolate to the warm milk.
Let the chocolate sit in the hot milk for about one minute to soften.
Whisk the mixture gently until the white chocolate is completely melted and the drink is smooth.
Return the saucepan to low heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the pinch of salt. Heat for another minute, stirring constantly, until the drink is hot but not boiling.
Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
Notes
Use white chocolate bars or wafers for the best melting quality; white chocolate chips may contain stabilizers that prevent smooth melting.
For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream.
Adjust the amount of chocolate based on your preference for sweetness and richness.
