Make a complete, flavorful dinner on one sheet pan. This recipe combines shrimp and broccoli tossed in a simple garlic butter sauce for fast cooking and easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  3. Place the broccoli florets on one side of the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle half of the garlic butter mixture over the broccoli and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the shrimp out on the other side of the sheet pan. Pour the remaining garlic butter mixture over the shrimp and toss gently to coat.
  5. Arrange the shrimp and broccoli in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. This promotes even roasting.
  6. Roast for 10 to 12 minutes. The shrimp should be pink and opaque, and the broccoli should be tender-crisp. Avoid overcooking the shrimp.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven. Drizzle the fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and broccoli. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve immediately, perhaps over rice or quinoa.

Notes

  • For best results, use large shrimp (21/25 count) as they cook at a similar rate to the broccoli.
  • If your broccoli florets are very large, cut them into smaller, uniform pieces so they cook through at the same time as the shrimp.
  • If you prefer a tangier flavor, add 1 teaspoon of lemon zest to the butter mixture before tossing.
