Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lb salmon fillet, skin removed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
12 small corn or flour tortillas
1 lime, cut into wedges
For the Slaw:
2 cups shredded cabbage mix
1 ripe avocado, mashed
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Mix the chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a small bowl to create the blackened seasoning.
Pat the salmon dry. Rub the seasoning mix evenly over both sides of the salmon fillet.
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the seasoned salmon in the hot skillet. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
While the salmon cooks, prepare the slaw. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, mashed avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and salt. Mix until well combined and creamy.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions (you can warm them in a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side).
Flake the cooked salmon into bite-sized pieces.
Assemble the tacos: Place a portion of flaked salmon onto each warm tortilla. Top generously with the creamy avocado slaw.
Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges.
Notes
You can cook the salmon in an air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes instead of pan-searing.
For extra heat, add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the slaw dressing.
Use pre-shredded coleslaw mix to save preparation time.
