Ingredients
Scale
2 English muffins, split
4 tablespoons pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Your favorite toppings (e.g., pepperoni, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Place the split English muffin halves cut-side up on a baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
Spoon one tablespoon of pizza sauce onto each muffin half, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce on all four halves.
Add your chosen toppings sparingly over the cheese.
Sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano over the cheese.
Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or air fry for 5 to 7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the muffin edges are lightly toasted.
Remove carefully and serve immediately.
Notes
For a crispier base, lightly toast the muffin halves in a toaster before adding toppings.
To make freezer friendly bites, assemble the pizzas completely but do not bake. Place them on a tray in the freezer until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cook time.
Use this base for breakfast pizza muffins by topping with a scrambled egg and bacon bits instead of sauce and cheese.
