Make crispy, savory ranch-flavored chickpeas using your air fryer. This recipe yields a healthy, crunchy snack perfect for topping salads or eating alone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  2. Thoroughly dry the rinsed chickpeas. Pat them completely dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen cloth. Removing moisture is key for crispiness.
  3. In a medium bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil until lightly coated.
  4. Add the ranch seasoning mix and salt (if using) to the bowl. Toss again until the seasoning evenly coats the chickpeas.
  5. Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously every 5 minutes to promote even cooking and crisping.
  7. Check for desired crispiness after 12 minutes. If they are not crunchy enough, continue cooking in 2-minute intervals.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. They will become crunchier as they cool.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can gently rub the chickpeas between two towels after rinsing to remove the skins. Discard any loose skins.
  • Adjust the amount of ranch seasoning based on your preference for flavor intensity.
  • Store cooled, leftover chickpeas in a container that is not airtight to maintain crispness.
