Make incredibly tender, juicy steak bites with minimal effort using your slow cooker. This easy crockpot steak recipe features a rich garlic butter sauce perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed steak into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly over the steak pieces. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak.
  4. Scatter the pieces of butter on top of the steak mixture.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 2.5 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
  6. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in the minced garlic.
  7. Once cooked, taste the liquid and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For guaranteed tenderness, avoid cooking on HIGH heat for longer than 2.5 hours, as this can sometimes dry out the edges of the cubes.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, remove the steak near the end and simmer the liquid on the stovetop until reduced, or mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir into the hot liquid in the slow cooker for the last 15 minutes.
  • This recipe works well with sirloin or chuck steak for the best results in a slow cooker.
