Ingredients
Scale
1 pound Brussels sprouts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves. Cut the sprouts in half lengthwise.
In a large bowl, toss the halved sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Spread the sprouts in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary for maximum crispiness.
Roast for 15 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and minced garlic (if using) evenly over the sprouts. Gently toss them on the pan.
Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown and the sprouts are tender inside and crispy outside.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, pat the trimmed sprouts very dry with paper towels before tossing them with oil.
If you prefer a slightly softer cheese coating, add the Parmesan only during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
You can substitute air frying for roasting; cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, adding cheese for the final 3 minutes.
