Follow this simple recipe to recreate the taste and look of the popular Starbucks Strawberry Açaí Refresher with Coconut Milk at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup white grape juice
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed passion tango tea, cooled (or substitute with hibiscus tea)
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree or 1/4 cup water mixed with 1 teaspoon strawberry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk (canned or carton, full fat recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or sweetener to taste
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 5 freeze-dried strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the white grape juice, cooled passion tango tea, strawberry puree or powder mixture, vanilla extract, and sugar in a shaker or jar.
  2. Stir or shake well until the sugar dissolves completely. This is your base concentrate.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the base concentrate over the ice, filling the glass about two-thirds full.
  5. Top the drink with the coconut milk. Do not stir vigorously; allow the white and pink layers to remain slightly separated for the classic look.
  6. Garnish the top with the freeze-dried strawberry slices.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

  • For a lower calorie version, use unsweetened white grape juice and adjust the added sugar.
  • If you cannot find strawberry powder, use 1/4 cup of crushed fresh or frozen strawberries mixed with a splash of water instead of the puree/powder.
  • Use full-fat canned coconut milk for the creamiest texture that mimics the Starbucks version.
  • If you want a caffeine-free drink, ensure you use a caffeine-free hibiscus tea instead of passion tango tea.
