Make shelf-stable or frozen gnocchi crispy on the outside and fluffy inside using your air fryer in under 20 minutes. This is a simple snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package shelf-stable or frozen potato gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw them first. If using shelf-stable gnocchi, ensure they are separated.
  2. Place the gnocchi in a medium bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this mixture over the oiled gnocchi and toss again until the gnocchi are fully seasoned.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned gnocchi in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 14 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously halfway through the cooking time, until the gnocchi are golden brown and crispy. Cooking time varies based on your air fryer model and whether the gnocchi were frozen or shelf-stable.
  7. Remove the crispy gnocchi from the air fryer. Immediately transfer them to a clean bowl and toss with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot as a snack, side dish, or with marinara or pesto sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the gnocchi with cooking spray before seasoning.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
  • This recipe works well with sweet potato gnocchi, but you may need to reduce the cook time by 1-2 minutes.
